We are now looking for an administrator for passports and service offices who wants to work during the summer months of June-August in the police area of Skaraborg. Region West

The Police Region West consists of Halland County and Västra Götaland County. The operations in the region are organized into five police areas: Fyrbodal, Halland, Skaraborg, Storgöteborg, and Älvsborg, which are collectively divided into 16 local police areas.

Police Area Skaraborg

The Police Area Skaraborg is one of five police areas in the Police Region West. The Police Area Skaraborg spans 15 municipalities and is divided into two local police areas: western Skaraborg and eastern Skaraborg. At the police area level, there is an investigation section and a police area office.

The Police Authority is now looking for administrators for passports and reception in Lidköping, Skövde, Falköping, and Mariestad.

Job Responsibilities

The position means that your main area of responsibility and work task will be to receive applications for travel documents. You may also work with other tasks such as receiving and assisting visitors to the service office, answering phone calls and emails, handling lost property, and receiving reports.

The work as a passport officer takes place in direct contact with visitors who approach the police to apply for a passport or national ID card and to collect travel documents. As a passport officer, you represent the authority and process applications in accordance with applicable laws and regulations such as the Passport Act, Passport Ordinance, Ordinance on National ID Cards, and the Administrative Procedure Act.

You will be the face of the authority and may be the visitor's first contact with the Police. You will meet people who have experienced difficult events. Our visitors should feel safe and well cared for in their contact with us. You should be able to inform, guide, and advise in a simple and understandable way. Each customer should be treated objectively and professionally based on their case.

Qualifications

This is an opportunity for you who have:

· a high school diploma or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant

· experience, preferably recent, in a service profession that has involved personal contact, such as reception, customer service, retail, or other relevant experience as deemed by the employer

· good computer skills and an ability to learn new IT systems easily

· good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing in Swedish

· good ability to express yourself verbally in English

It is meritorious if you also:

· are a student at PHS

· have recent experience processing applications for passports and national ID cards

· have recent experience working within the Police Authority

· have a Swedish B driver's license
